Recipe for eggnog

Here is another recipe for your eggnog, thick and suitable for our eggnog licking bowls😊

Ingredients :

  1. - 6 egg yolks
  2. - 150 g icing sugar
  3. - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  4. - 200 ml condensed milk
  5. - 200 ml vodka or grain alcohol (depending on preference)
  6. - 1 pinch of salt
  7. - Optional: A pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon for extra flavor

Directions :

1. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and place the egg yolks in a heatproof bowl.

2. Add the powdered sugar to the egg yolks and mix thoroughly.

3. Heat the mixture in a double boiler or a double frying pan over a low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly. This usually takes about 10 minutes. Be careful not to overheat the mixture or it may curdle.

4. After the egg yolk-sugar mixture has thickened, remove it from the heat and let it cool.

5. Slowly pour the condensed milk into the cooled egg yolk-sugar mixture and stir well.

6. Stir the vodka or grain alcohol and vanilla extract into the mixture. You can adjust the amount of alcohol to your taste.

7. Add a pinch of salt and optionally a pinch of ground nutmeg or cinnamon for extra flavor. Stir well.

8. Pour the thick eggnog into clean, sealable bottles or jars and store in the refrigerator.

9. Your homemade, thick eggnog is now ready to enjoy! Serve it chilled and enjoy it neat, over ice cream or in desserts.

This recipe should give you a thicker eggnog that is creamier and richer.
